Why Krakatau?
Krakatau is a mountain that erupted dreadfully in 1883. The eruption is one of the largest eruptions ever recorded on earth, which effects were felt by the people living on almost half the globe. Currently, only a small part of the Krakatau Mountain is left.

Krakatau is located at the Sunda Strait, between Banten and Lampung.

ITINERARY

Day 1
Drive from Jakarta to Serang via Toll (L /D)
Visit tourist objects in the Old Banten Area: Grand Mosque, Museum, Fort Speelwijk & Palace ruins. Lunch at local restaurant. Proceed to Carita forest resort, a walk to a
Waterfall called Curug Gendang.
Check in: ECO WISATA Guest House standard/non airconditioned.
Day 2
Full day Krakatau Tour (B / L)
Before landing, we boat slowly around the island and see the red & grey ashes behind it. After landing, hike to the top (315m) to enjoy a scenic yet scary panorama. Lunch is cooked on the spot by the Marimar staff. Tea coffee & fruits are available.
From here to Rakata island to see the jungle remains since the eruption in 1883.
Eco Wisata Guest House:
The Guest House belong to the Forestry Department of Indonesia, about 1 km inland from the road, about 40m above sea level, from where you can see the bay of Carita. Tectona Grandis & Mahagoni shady
trees. You can see the seedling areas for reforestry, and walk to Curug Gendang Waterfalls. Nice hilly forest environments and
atmosphere as well. Busy only during peak seasons.
