BULGARIAN BACKROADS:  BLACK SEA TO THE MOUNTAIN TOURS

A week at the seaside in the town of Sozopol and 3 days in the mountains either in the village of Trigrad, or the village of Dolen, or the town of Melnik, or the town of Bansko or the village of Kovachevitsa.

Day 1 - 7

This tour offers seven days at the Black sea coast in the ancient town of Sozopol. For various reasons since the remote 7 c. B.C. when the ancient Greeks founded the town it has been an attractive place. The old city enchants its visitors with its picturesque location, specific architecture, ancient excavations and summer cultural events. Our guests are accommodated in "The House with the Sun" with its exquisite interior and artistic atmosphere. The house is also equipped with all present day conveniences (Jacuzzi and sauna). The guests may enjoy the calm coziness and artistic atmosphere of the house as well as the summer crowd excitement outside its nice garden. For seven days you can enjoy the sun, the sea, history, archeology, boutique stores and galleries, lots of water sports, horse back riding along the seacoast (not incl. in the price).

Day 8 - 10

After your stay in the town of Sozopol whatever travel direction you chose will be a success. The next three days will acquaint you with some of the most picturesque places in the Bulgarian mountains.

• In the village of Trigrad: The program offers you the beautiful nature, friendly hosts and 3 hours horse ride; visits to two caves - Devils Gorge and Haramiyska cave; a boat trip to the Devil's Gorge river cave siphon.

• In the village of Dolen: Visit to the local church; excursion to the nearby Thracian sanctuaries; a picnic; one-day workshop on Bulgarian folk crafts.

• In the town of Melnik: Visit to the Rozhen monastery with a guide; wine tasting; visit to the village of Kliuch; visit to the house of Kordopulos.

• In the town of Bansko: Dinner at a local folk style restaurant ("mehana"); mountain hike to peak Vihren (2914 m) with a guide /or an excursion by bus to the Muratovo lake in the Pirin mountain.

• In the village of Kovachevitsa: Visit the village church; hike to the Saint George chapel; visit of the Thracian sanctuary "Kozi kamuk".
